Chruch #1

You slip out of the grocery store and run across the street. The church is quiet and empty. You take a few deep breaths as you savor being alone for the first time in months and take a seat on the pew. You’ve never been one to reach out to God much, but you begin to pray to Him and ask for forgiveness and His help. Your eyes start to well up, then the tears start pouring from your eyes and your body is soon shaking with the sobs. You feel so guilty about the life that you have been living. You cannot imagine that God would listen to you and even if He does, you wonder how he could ever forgive you for the life you live. You feel lost and broken beyond healing. Suddenly, you hear the church door swing open, it’s Tracy. She is clearly angry. She strides towards you and grabs you by the arm, with a grip of steel. She is obviously not feeling kind and is anxious to leave. She is ready to go now. You look up at her and say, “Can I stay, please?” She tells you that if you stay here, she will tell Colton and he will beat you. If you go back with Tracy you will surely arrive late, and she will blame it on you. You are terrified of his reaction, but you know he will only beat you. He will not kill you, as long as you keep sleeping with men and earning him money. The beating may be worth a few extra minutes of solitude.

What happens next?

If you want to stay in the church hoping to find other living arrangements and risk Colton finding you, go to Housing/Shelter #1.

If you want to return with Tracy, go to Return to Trafficker #1.
