You meet with Jennifer, a young woman in her 30’s who has a lot of apartments available. You are upfront with her and tell Jennifer that you were sex trafficked and have had a lot of trust issues now with everyone you meet because you don’t know what is going to happen to you. Jennifer is now your landlord and she only makes you pay a very small amount of rent each month. You work at a diner, so you don’t make that much and you’re only part time. Jennifer lives right above you. Many nights, Jennifer’s boyfriend Jake comes over. You have met Jake many times and he seems very sweet and nice. You often know when Jake is over at Jennifer’s place because you can hear them since they live above you. One night, you run into Jake unexpectedly and all the trauma you have been through with other men is triggered. You begin having nightmares and panic attacks, sometimes making you leave work early and sometimes you don’t make it to work at all.
