If the person can’t walk away without fear of harm, it’s trafficking.

- MIRA SORVINO

UN AMBASSADOR ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING, 2013

Are you being trafficked, or do you know someone who is?

We may be able to help. Often, the first question we hear is, “Do you have a bed?”, but that may not be the most important question.

As more survivors attempt to make the long exit from “the life”, it's important to coordinate the services each one needs and to find the best program for her individual requirements.

To determine if one of our programs at The Harbor or Refuge Home is the right fit, you can apply now by clicking on the link below for our Residential Application, or call our intake phone number.

Intake Criteria

  • 18-35 years of age

  • A survivor of sex trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation

  • Biologically female

  • Free from imminent threat from others

  • Not a threat to herself or others

  • Not responsible for physical custody of children.

  • At this time, Harbor/Refuge home can accommodate women but not dependent children onsite

The intake line operates during weekday business hours; if you reach voicemail, you should always leave a message.  Your call will be returned within 24 hours or on the next business day.  Callers to the intake line will be connected with a North Star Initiative staff member; an assessment of needs will be completed, and referrals made based on identified needs.

The safety and anonymity of each survivor are of utmost importance; callers can be assured that all information shared will be treated confidentially and with discretion.

Trafficking victims are also encouraged to call or text the National Human Trafficking Resource Center.
