North Star’s mission is to restore women from trafficking: for freedom. for life. forever. We are committed to providing support to survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. We operate The Harbor, a residential program that addresses the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs of the women we serve with a Christ-centered focus.

Summary:

North Star Initiative is seeking a part-time position to partner in facilitating and administering regular programmatic operations at The Harbor. Restoration Coaches are expected to apply trauma-informed principles in every aspect of their work and be an essential part of the team that creates a warm, safe, and caring environment for the residents. The Restoration Coach reports directly to the Restoration Program Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily program structure
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of The Harbor residents
  • Create and maintain intentional connections with the women served
  • Model and teach life skills including but not limited to meal prep, housekeeping, money management, social skills, etc
  • Organize and run group and individual sessions
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and supervision
  • Ensure goal plans are completed according to program policies
  • Assist residents with education coordination, job search, interview skills, maintaining schedules, coordination of medical care, legal services, and other services as needed and as determined by program needs
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by program needs

Required Qualities and Experience:

  • Purposeful and intentional relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Ability to demonstrate the love, grace and compassion of Christ in all aspects of the job
  • Cultural competency; an ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to work overnight shifts between the hours of 9pm to 7am

Qualifications:

Minimum:
  • Associate’s degree in Human Services field
  • Awareness of the impact of human trafficking and trauma
  • Two years of experience working in social services
  • Must be over 21 years of age
Preferred:
  • Bachelor Degree in Human Services field
  • Four years of experience working in social services
  • Counseling experience
  • Experience working with survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome of a criminal history check, employment verification, and a fingerprint check.
