Restoration Caseworker

North Star’s mission is to restore women from trafficking: for freedom. for life. forever. We are committed to providing support to survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation. We operate The Harbor, a residential program that addresses the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs of the women we serve with a Christ-centered focus.

Summary:

North Star Initiative is seeking a full-time position to partner in facilitating and administering daily programmatic operations at The Harbor. Restoration Caseworkers are expected to apply trauma-informed principles in every aspect of their work with the residents and be an essential part of the team by connecting the women we serve with resources outside of The Harbor. The Restoration Caseworker reports directly to the Restoration Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain resident charts according to program policies
  • Act as liaison between residents and outside community resources
  • Develop and maintain relationships with various resources
  • Create and maintain intentional connections with the women served
  • Assist in the development of goal plans
  • Complete needs assessments
  • Assist residents with education coordination, job search, interview skills, maintaining schedules, coordination of medical care, legal services, and other services as needed
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and supervision
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by program needs

Required Qualities and Experience:

  • Purposeful and intentional relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Ability to demonstrate the love, grace and compassion of Christ in all aspects of the job
  • Awareness of the impact of human trafficking and trauma
  • Cultural competency; an ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds and cultures
  • Flexibility in work schedule as determined by program needs

Qualifications:

Minimum:
  • Associate’s degree/Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field
  • Awareness of the impact of human trafficking and trauma
  • Two years of experience working in social services
Preferred:
  • Experience working with the impact of human trafficking and trauma
  • Four years of experience working in social services

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome of a criminal history check, employment verification, and a fingerprint check.
